About the Author
Cameron Cartiere is a lecturer at Birkbeck, University of London in the department of Arts Policy & Management. She has lectured extensively on public art issues and contemporary art practice and is the co-author of The Manifesto of Possibilities, a guide for the commissioning of public art in urban environments.
Shelly Willis is the Director of the City of Sacramento Public Art Program. She has managed public art projects and programs for more than 20 years.

Engaging

Not as dry as some books on public art history and practice, it is in fact quite engaging. I read this in conjuncture with an internship at an Art Commission, and the information is definitely for insiders, but I hope even if you don't have experience or knowledge of this field you still read this, as the information would be interesting to anyone who has an interest in this area. It is even more valuable considering it was only published last year, and so the information is fresher. It is especially annoying to have to read outdated (sometimes by 20 years) books on "contemporary" public art. If you are in the market for this kind of informative read, please don't skip this one!
